Our client supports customers in these diverse sectors for the UK and Ireland markets.

We are recruiting for a Fluidrive Engineer on a permanent full-time contract; this is a site-based position. Must be able and willing to work in various and sometimes challenging environments. Candidates must be adaptable and open-minded, able to engage with diverse teams constructively, and should face new challenges as learning and growth opportunities, always seeking positive outcomes.

Professional Experience, Education & Skills
  • Minimum 10 years experience in manufacturing and design function.
  • Mechanical engineering qualification to minimum HND level.
  • Experience of AUTO-CAD / Siemens Nx and Team Centre.
  • Knowledge of Engineering change and document control.
  • Good understanding and application of BS 8888 technical product documentation and specifications.
  • Hands-on, flexible, positive, adaptable, and proactive approach to support junior engineers.
  • Understanding of non-ferrous metal casting process.
  • Fluent in technical and conversational English.
  • Experience in power transmissions and rotating equipment.
  • Commercial awareness understanding the impact of engineering actions and decisions on current contracts and future business.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of the ISO 9001:2015 quality system.
  • Ability to self-learn.
  • Team player.
  • Excellent communication skills on a technical level with both internal and external customers.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for Mechanical Engineering.
Core Responsibilities
  • Create new and revise old manufacturing drawings.
  • Ensure all drawings created, modified, or scanned are checked, approved, and uploaded into Team Centre.
  • Ensure all drawings are drawn to suitable standards and in accordance with BS8888.
  • Maintain the current CAD system and drawing repository.
  • Maintain technical product records, manuals, and descriptions.
  • Liaise/support workshop staff on technical queries.
  • Evaluate and interpret customer technical requests.
  • Perform design changes to existing designs as required.
  • Update drawings to the correct standard to ensure they are fit for current manufacturing processes.
  • Support Sales Managers and Sales admin staff.
  • Liaise with customers in the UK and overseas.
  • Liaise with parent company in Germany.
  • Support Field Service engineers on products overhauled or manufactured by Voith.
  • Be the owner of Fluidrive technical related NCRs.
  • Visit suppliers that manufacture, machine, and cast major components to assist and support their in-house processes.
  • Support both Purchasing and Quality to approve and qualify new suppliers.
Package Details:
  • Permanent Contract
  • Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm - a 36.5-hour working week.
  • GBP50k - GBP60k (dependent on experience)
  • Annual Bonus (pro rata on year of joining)
