Southwest Health & Safety is expanding our delivery team and looking for a CITB Site Safety Plus (SSP) Trainer to join our growing network. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced health and safety professional with real, on-site experience to step into a respected training and mentoring role.

You’ll deliver engaging, practical training to operatives, supervisors, and managers across the construction and utilities sectors — helping learners apply real-world safety principles and achieve their CITB qualifications with confidence.

We’re looking for a confident, approachable professional who can combine technical knowledge with hands-on credibility. You’ll bring:

  • 3–5 years’ recent construction or civil engineering site experience (essential)
  • A teaching qualification (PTLLS, AET, or higher)
  • Current CITB Site Safety Plus Trainer Approval (or eligibility for approval)
  • Strong understanding of CDM, risk management, and site supervision principles
  • A down-to-earth, “muddy boots” approach — able to connect with all levels of the workforce
  • The confidence to lead a classroom and keep training relatable and practical

Maintain accurate course records, registers, and learner documentation. Contribute to course quality assurance and continuous improvement. Represent Southwest Health & Safety professionally across partner sites and venues.
