SW&P Accountancy is seeking a full-time Junior Accountant to join our on-site team in Leeds. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with financial record-keeping, preparing accounts, managing invoices, and supporting various accounting operations. Day-to-day tasks may include reconciling bank statements, processing payroll, preparing financial reports, and assisting senior accountants with audits and tax filings. This role offers an opportunity for professional development and growth within a supportive environment.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- AAT Qualified or Qualified by experience with a sound understanding of practical accounting.
- Experience working in an accounting practice.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in financial management, accounting, and bookkeeping practices, including preparing financial statements and reconciling accounts.
- Knowledge of tax preparation, tax compliance, and understanding of UK tax regulations.
- Skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Familiarity with accounting software and tools such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
The role will include, but not limited to:
- Preparation of VAT returns.
- Preparation of annual and corporation accounts.
- Handle HMRC queries and correspondence.
- General admin tasks as and when required.
- Management of client financial records and bookkeeping.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients via phone and email.
- Commit to personal professional development and share knowledge with peers.
