About The Role
This is an opportunity to play a key role in designing, implementing, and evolving enterprise‑scale cloud solutions within complex and highly regulated environments. Working closely with architecture, security, and delivery teams, you’ll help shape scalable cloud platforms and deployment patterns that support critical business services and long‑term transformation initiatives. The role combines hands‑on engineering with technical leadership, giving you the opportunity to influence solution direction while remaining close to delivery. You’ll contribute across the full delivery lifecycle — from solution design and infrastructure automation through to deployment, testing, and operational readiness — ensuring solutions are secure, resilient, and aligned to organisational standards.
As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, You Will:
- Design, build, and support enterprise‑scale cloud infrastructure and platform solutions.
- Develop scalable and reusable Infrastructure‑as‑Code solutions using Terraform.
- Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support efficient and reliable delivery practices.
- Collaborate with architecture and security teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and governance requirements.
- Support cloud environment provisioning, configuration, and deployment activities across multiple initiatives.
- Work closely with technical SMEs, engineers, and delivery teams to ensure successful integration and operational readiness.
- Contribute to solution documentation, technical standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support testing and transition activities, including operational acceptance and production readiness.
- Participate in cross‑functional working groups to improve engineering consistency, automation, and delivery outcomes.
- Maintain awareness of evolving cloud technologies, platform capabilities, and industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Strong hands‑on experience delivering enterprise‑scale cloud solutions within AWS environments.
- Proven experience using Terraform for Infrastructure‑as‑Code delivery.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions or similar.
- Understanding of cloud architecture principles, security, networking, and scalable infrastructure design.
- Experience working within complex enterprise or regulated environments.
- Exposure to containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with a structured and delivery‑focused approach.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
It Would Be Great If You Also Had:
- Experience supporting large‑scale transformation or migration programmes.
- Familiarity with cloud governance, monitoring, and operational best practices.
- Experience working within the energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure sectors.
