About The Role

As a Power BI Developer, you will work closely with stakeholders to turn reporting needs into clear, reliable and user-friendly Power BI dashboards. You'll take ownership of Power BI solutions from requirements through to delivery and ongoing improvement, ensuring dashboards are accurate, intuitive and fit for purpose. This role focuses on data modelling, transformation and dashboard design within Power BI, with an emphasis on usability, consistency and good reporting practice.

As a Power BI Developer, You Will:

  • Work with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective Power BI solutions.
  • Advise on dashboard design, KPI selection and data visualisation best practice.
  • Connect Power BI to a range of data sources and transform data using Power Query.
  • Design and maintain analytical data models, including star and snowflake schemas.
  • Build clear, user-friendly, enterprise-grade dashboards in Power BI.
  • Manage Power BI workspaces, datasets, permissions and access controls.
  • Monitor and resolve production issues, including dataset refresh failures and report bugs.
  • Update and enhance existing dashboards based on user feedback and changing requirements.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience developing and supporting Power BI dashboards in a production environment.
  • Strong experience using Power Query for data transformation and preparation.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling for analytics (e.g. star/snowflake schemas).
  • Experience managing datasets, workspaces, security and access within Power BI Service.
  • Strong understanding of data visualisation best practice and dashboard usability.
  • Experience working directly with stakeholders to define reporting and KPI requirements.
  • Ability to present information clearly to non-technical users.
  • High attention to detail and a structured approach to reporting solutions.
