About the role: As the Junior Data Manager, you will be at the heart of helping our energy clients manage and organise critical subsurface data. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates or those in the early stages of their career who are curious about data, passionate about the energy sector, and eager to learn. Working as part of a friendly and supportive team, you will gain hands-on experience managing and quality-checking well data for some of the largest names in the industry. You’ll learn how to work with complex Geoscience and Engineering datasets, supporting real projects that make a difference. You don’t need years of experience - if you have a degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Petroleum Geology, or similar, and a good understanding of data or IT, we want to hear from you! We’ll give you full training and ongoing development opportunities to build your skills and grow your career in data management.
As the Junior Data Manager, you will:
- Support the collection, quality control, and organisation of well data, ensuring it meets project and client standards.
- Learn how to manage complex subsurface datasets, including Geoscience and Engineering data, and how these are used across the energy sector.
- Work closely with experienced data managers and technical teams, gaining insight into how data underpins critical decisions.
- Help identify and resolve data quality issues, ensuring information is accurate, reliable, and accessible.
- Follow established workflows and best practices, contributing to a high‑quality service for our clients.
- Collaborate with colleagues and clients to understand project needs and deliver great results.
- Develop your knowledge of industry tools and software, with training provided to support your learning journey.
This is an ideal role if you are:
- A recent graduate (or someone with a few years experience) in Geology, Petroleum Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related subject.
- Interested in how data is used in the energy sector and excited to develop specialist data management skills.
- Detail‑oriented, organised, and keen to learn how to handle technical data.
- Comfortable working in a team and communicating professionally with colleagues and clients.
- A problem‑solver, curious about how things work and eager to improve processes.
Desirable (nice to have):
- Knowledge of wireline, MWD (Measurement While Drilling), and LWD (Logging While Drilling) logging tools and their applications.
- Any experience handling Seismic data, Data Loading, or Data Processing.
- An understanding of data quality, data clean‑up, and quality control processes.
- Familiarity with commonly used subsurface industry software, such as Petrel, Techlog, Geolog, or Interactive Petrophysics, or relational databases.
- Cross‑discipline awareness within subsurface domains (e.g., Geology, Petrophysics, Geophysics, Reservoir Engineering, Wells).
