About the Role: As the Information Management Lead, you’ll play a key role in transforming how critical information is managed across a dynamic and fast-paced energy operator. You’ll lead and support an established Document Control team, driving improvements that make it easier for people to find, trust, and use the information they need. This isn’t just about maintaining existing systems – it’s about setting new standards, identifying quick wins, and embedding best practices that improve project delivery, safety, and compliance.
You will work closely with third parties and internal teams, acting as the subject matter expert for all things Information Management and Document Control, and influencing change at every level of the organisation.
As the Information Management Lead, you will:
- Provide leadership and direction to the existing Document Control team
- Review current IM/DC practices and implement high-impact “quick wins”
- Draft, refine, and gain buy-in for improved IM/DM processes and documentation
- Influence at every level – from third-party suppliers to C-Suite decision-makers, your voice will shape culture and compliance.
- Act as the subject matter expert across Information Management and Document Control
- Support the development of best-in-class standards and procedures, aligned with energy sector norms
- Lead with purpose – coaching and mentoring others to build a future-fit IM function that scales with the business.
What you will bring:
- A degree in Information Management (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- A background in records, document, or data management
- Experience leading teams – ideally including contractors and third-party suppliers
- Proven expertise with OpenText Documentum and other EDMS platforms
- Confidence in drafting, presenting, and rolling out processes and proposals
- Familiarity with Oil & Gas document control standards
- A sharp eye for organisation and a genuine passion for improving how people work
- Project Management certification (PRINCE2, APM, or similar advantageous)
