About the role

Join Sword Group as a Mobile Applications Specialist and play a key role in supporting the digital tools that enable frontline teams to safely and efficiently manage critical infrastructure.

Working within a collaborative environment, you'll become the subject matter expert for enterprise mobile applications, ensuring they continue to deliver value across field operations.

You'll work closely with operational teams, technical specialists and third-party vendors to support, enhance and optimise mobile applications that are central to day-to-day business activities.

From gathering business requirements and delivering application improvements to troubleshooting complex issues and supporting new releases, you'll help ensure technology continues to meet the evolving needs of the business.

As a Mobile Applications Specialist, you will

  • Act as the subject matter expert for enterprise mobile applications supporting field-based operations.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand operational requirements and translate them into effective application solutions.
  • Configure, test and support application enhancements, releases and upgrades.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues, working alongside internal support teams and external vendors where required.
  • Support the continuous improvement of mobile applications through user feedback and operational insight.
  • Promote user adoption by providing guidance, training and ongoing support to end users.
  • Ensure applications remain compliant with governance, security and change management processes.
  • Support application integrations and data flows between enterprise systems.
  • Collaborate with technical and operational teams to deliver reliable, scalable and user-focused mobile solutions.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of mobile application standards, documentation and best practices.

Requirements

  • Significant experience supporting enterprise mobile applications within complex business environments.
  • Experience working with IBM Maximo Mobile and/or IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS).
  • Understanding of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) processes and field operations.
  • Experience supporting mobile workforces within utilities, energy, infrastructure or other asset-intensive industries.
  • Knowledge of enterprise application integrations, REST APIs and data flows.
  • Experience supporting application testing, releases and change management activities.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying improvements.
  • Customer-focused with a collaborative approach to delivering business value.

Desirable experience

  • Experience with Skylark Transfer of Control.
  • Knowledge of Service Now.
  • Experience working within Agile or Scrum delivery environments.
  • Familiarity with mobile device management principles.
