Role Overview: At Sword Group, we are looking for a passionate and people‑focused Change Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, supporting, and equipping individuals at every level of our customers’ organisations to successfully adopt new business solutions and modern ways of working. This includes driving change across business processes, systems, technology, job roles, and organisational structures. As a Change & Adoption Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our customers’ transformation programmes. You will help shape and deliver change strategies that meet project objectives, enhance stakeholder engagement, and maximise employee adoption and usage. Your work will be essential to ensuring that change is not only implemented, but embraced.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Adopt a structured change methodology and lead the design, development and delivery of the change plan, working as an integrated member of the project team.
  • Define the scope of the change requirement and the benefits delivered by the projects, by working in partnership with the Value Stream Lead, Sponsor, Product Owner and Project Manager.
  • Support the project team with the creation of a stakeholder map and supporting communication plan.
  • Prepare the change impact assessment and define the communication, engagement and training activities needed to successfully embed the changes.
  • Identify, analyse and prepare risk mitigation activities.
  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance to change.
  • Consult and coach project teams.
  • Create actionable deliverables for the core change management plan: sponsors plan, people manager plan, communication plan and training plan.
  • Support with the engagement of senior leaders.
  • Coordinate the change deliverables with other specialists – Internal Communication, Business Implementation Managers, Transmission Change.
  • Integrate change deliverables into the project plan – establish change as an embedded discipline within each project.
  • Track and report status.
  • Define and measure success – monitor the impact user change journey and take corrective action where necessary.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Change Management experience or similar role
  • Experience of supporting and managing a portfolio of change projects
  • Develop and implement Change Management strategies, principles and methodologies
  • Plan and design communication campaigns and strategies
  • Assess and advise on the business impact of change
  • Design training content and learning paths
  • Engage and manage key stakeholders
  • Measure, report and advise on adoption and proficiency
  • Identify and mitigate risks
  • Consult and coach project teams
  • Experience Change & Adoption Manager or similar role
  • Experience and knowledge of PROSCI’s industry standard ADKAR and best practice User Experience Design
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
  • Ability to influence others and move towards a common vision/goal.
  • Familiar with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle – both Waterfall and Agile.
