As a Power BI Developer, you will work closely with stakeholders to transform reporting requirements into meaningful insights that support business decision-making. You'll take ownership of Power BI solutions from requirements gathering through to development, deployment and ongoing enhancement, ensuring dashboards are accurate, intuitive and deliver real value. This role combines data modelling, transformation and visualisation, requiring someone who can work confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You'll play an important role in helping organisations make better use of their data by creating scalable, enterprise-grade reporting solutions that are reliable, secure and user-friendly.

As a Power BI Developer, you will:

  • Advise on dashboard design, KPI development and data visualisation best practice
  • Connect Power BI to a variety of data sources and transform data using Power Query
  • Design, develop and maintain analytical data models, including star and snowflake schemas
  • Create visually engaging, user-friendly and enterprise-grade dashboards in Power BI
  • Manage Power BI workspaces, datasets, permissions and security controls
  • Support data governance standards, ensuring reporting solutions are accurate, consistent and compliant with organisational requirements
  • Monitor and resolve production issues, including dataset refresh failures, performance concerns and report defects

Proven experience developing and supporting Power BI dashboards within a production environment. Strong experience using Power Query for data transformation, cleansing and preparation. Solid understanding of data modelling concepts, including star and snowflake schemas. Experience managing datasets, workspaces, security and access controls within Power BI Service. Strong understanding of data visualisation best practice and dashboard usability principles. Understanding of data governance, data quality and reporting standards. Experience working with multiple data sources and data integration processes. Exposure to data engineering concepts, ETL processes or cloud-based data platforms.
