We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior ServiceNow Developer to join our growing ServiceNow team. This role is ideal for someone early in their ServiceNow career who is eager to develop strong technical skills, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality platform solutions. You will support the design, development, and enhancement of ServiceNow applications and workflows across ITSM and other modules, working closely with senior developers, platform engineers, and administrators. This is a hands-on development role with a strong focus on learning, continuous improvement, and building capability within an enterprise ServiceNow environment. You will work under the guidance of the Platform Owner and senior technical team members to ensure solutions align with platform standards and best practices.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support the design and development of ServiceNow solutions, including forms, workflows, scripts, and simple custom applications.
- Assist in configuring and enhancing ITSM processes within ServiceNow.
- Write and maintain basic to intermediate scripts using JavaScript and Glide APIs under guidance.
- Contribute to integrations using REST/SOAP APIs where required.
- Participate in testing activities, including support for Automated Test Framework (ATF) execution and defect resolution.
- Support releases, deployments, and environment updates as part of the delivery cycle.
Platform Support & Collaboration:
- Work closely with Senior Developers, System Administrators, and Platform Engineers to deliver changes and enhancements.
- Assist in investigating and resolving platform issues, escalating where appropriate.
- Follow established development standards, coding guidelines, and documentation practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews).
Learning & Continuous Improvement:
- Develop ServiceNow skills through hands-on delivery and structured mentoring.
- Learn and apply platform best practices, coding standards, and governance principles.
- Contribute ideas for improving efficiency, automation, and user experience.
- Stay engaged with new ServiceNow features and capabilities as part of ongoing development.
Requirements:
- Some experience (commercial or academic) working with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
- Basic understanding of ServiceNow architecture and modules (ITSM exposure desirable).
- Familiarity with JavaScript fundamentals (or similar scripting/programming experience).
- Exposure to REST APIs or integrations is beneficial but not essential.
- Understanding of ITIL principles is advantageous.
- Experience working in Agile teams is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or working towards it.
- Exposure to ServiceNow development training or certification pathways (CAD desirable long term).
- ITIL Foundation certification (advantageous but not essential).
