This is a Hybrid role and can be based in Aberdeen, Perth or Glasgow.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted partner to stakeholders, driving value by leveraging technology, optimising processes, and ensuring cost‑effective, high‑quality service delivery across complex projects and programmes.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the business and service teams, ensuring a clear understanding of objectives and priorities.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with senior leaders, operational stakeholders and external stakeholders.
- Lead regular business reviews, value discussions, and roadmap sessions.
- End‑to‑end requirements gathering, discovery, and analytical activities for complex initiatives.
- Take ownership of the demand planning lifecycle, translating business needs into prioritised, well‑defined IT initiatives that support strategic goals.
- Conduct workshops, process mapping, and impact assessments.
- Translate business needs into detailed functional and non‑functional requirements.
- Manage a portfolio of IT and business initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and regulatory obligations.
- Develop business cases, cost/benefit analysis, and solution options.
- Support project governance, sprint planning (if Agile), and solution validation.
- Ensure that business teams are fully represented during design and decision processes.
- Lead or contribute to testing phases, including UAT planning, execution, and defect management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Business Relationship Manager, Senior Business Analyst, or similar business‑facing role.
- Desirable experience within utilities, energy or infrastructure industries.
- Strong process mapping, and analytical toolkit.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working with IT, operational, and customer service teams.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
- Strong relationship builder.
- Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Customer‑centric mindset with a drive for improving service and operations.
- Familiarity with governance frameworks, roadmapping, and strategic planning.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and balance tactical and strategic needs.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable IT deliverables.
