Director, Mortgage Broking – Jersey

Jersey, Channel Islands | Full-time | £70k-80k base + commission

Are you an experienced mortgage broker ready to take ownership of more than just your client portfolio?

We are working with a highly established, international high-net-worth mortgage brokerage to appoint a Director, Mortgage Broking to lead its Jersey operation.

This is a rare opportunity to combine hands-on mortgage broking with genuine commercial and operational leadership. Alongside advising high-net-worth clients and managing complex mortgage transactions, you will take responsibility for the growth, performance and development of the Jersey business.

The opportunity

As Director, you will become a key figure within the Jersey operation, with responsibility for:

• Managing mortgage applications from initial enquiry through to completion, working closely with clients and lenders to structure appropriate solutions.
• Building and developing a strong network of introducers, professional connections and high-net-worth contacts across the Channel Islands.
• Generating new business and identifying opportunities across mortgage broking and wider business lines.
• Growing and representing the firm's presence and reputation within the local market.
• Taking ownership of the Jersey office P&L, with responsibility for revenue, costs and profitability.
• Contributing to board-level discussions around strategy, performance and key business decisions.
• Providing local oversight of the office's day-to-day operations and supporting the management and development of Jersey-based staff.
• Working closely with Compliance, MLRO and Finance colleagues to ensure the business meets its regulatory and governance responsibilities.

The role also carries formal directorship responsibilities, including supporting statutory filings, regulatory obligations and engagement with the relevant Jersey authorities.

What we're looking for

We're looking for an accomplished mortgage professional who combines technical expertise, commercial instinct and the confidence to operate at senior level.

You’ll need:

• CeMAP qualification.
• Strong experience within mortgage broking and client management.
• Excellent numerical, organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a highly precise approach.
• The ability to explain complex financial information clearly and confidently.
• A professional, approachable and credible manner with clients, lenders and professional partners.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• The commercial drive to develop relationships and generate new business.
• The judgement and maturity required to take ownership of a regulated business operation.

Experience working with high-net-worth clients, professional introducers or within the Channel Islands would be particularly relevant.
