Key Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active NMC registration
  • GP practice experience is mandatory
  • Competency in EMIS Web
  • Current membership of a professional nursing organisation
  • Committed to ongoing professional development
  • Minimum of 2 years' GP practice nurse experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Childhood and travel immunisations
  • Wound care and ear syringing
  • ECG and spirometry
  • Conduct health assessments and screening: new patient checks, 75+ assessments
  • Cervical cytology
  • Manage chronic disease clinics, including asthma, COPD, diabetes, CHD, and hypertension
  • Promote and support health education and wellbeing clinics
  • Collaborate with wider healthcare team: GPs, community services, district nurses, and allied professionals
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure safe management of the treatment room
  • Coordinate repeat prescriptions and vaccine stock
  • Assist in mentoring and training of healthcare assistants
  • Participate in practice meetings, audits, training, and nursing forums
