Switch2 is the market leader in the provision of bespoke energy metering, monitoring and billing services to high energy users such as hospitals, factories, residential apartments, commercial properties and industrial sites. Our client portfolio contains local authorities, universities, factories, housing associations, private landlords and utility energy suppliers. The company is now entering into an exciting new business sector and has already won over a dozen major contracts with large public sector property developers who now have to consider renewable energy in order to obtain planning permission for new build projects.
The ideal candidate must have the desire to assist in developing the division via a hands-on approach and an entrepreneurial spirit to help grow the business sector and deliver on the goals set.
Candidate requirementsThe Commercial Heating Engineer will be responsible for the day to day response and preventative planned maintenance works across a varied and wide range of commercial heating systems. In addition, there will be a requirement to provide out of hours on call support to these activities within a structured on call rota basis.
Core responsibilities- Response service fault diagnosis, repair and renewal works
- Planned preventative maintenance works
- Maintenance and upkeep of Plant Room and associated equipment
- Working Health & Safety Practice
- Valid Commercial & Domestic Gas Qualifications - COCN1, CIGA1, ICPN1, TPCP1/1A, CCN1, WAT1, CKR1, HTR1, CPA1 (Minimum six months remaining prior to renewal of certification)
- Previous experience in a service and maintenance environment
- Full, clean driving licence
- Experience or qualifications on BMS systems
- Experience of CHP engines and Biomass boilers
- Electrical experience both single and three phase
- Experience of building services engineering within district and community heating
- Experience of working within a service industry
- Understanding communal/district heating
- Ability to provide high levels of customer satisfaction
- Deliver tasks and operations in line with timeline targets and requirements
- Self-Manage daily activities via use of a structured hand held system
- Operate within agreed operational and Supervisory guidelines
- Maintain effective internal and external client or user relationships within own area of responsibilities
The candidate should ideally have minimum 3 years’ experience of dealing with commercial gas appliances and associated plant, Building Management Systems and related products. They should have a good technical understanding and previous experience in a similar services industry. Customer facing, they will have experience within this area and have a clear understanding of the need to provide high levels of customer satisfaction.
