The Field Services Engineer will be responsible for response and preventative planned maintenance works across a varied and wide range of metering, hydraulic and electrical controls systems installed primarily within residential properties. In addition, there will be a requirement to provide out of hours on call support to these activities within a structured on call rota basis. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will be NVQ Level 3 qualified and time‑served, demonstrating a strong background in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair work. This role involves working on a variety of residential and commercial projects, ensuring high‑quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tasks and operations in line with timeline targets and requirements
- Self‑manage daily activities via a structured hand‑held system
- Operate within agreed operational and supervisory guidelines
- Maintain effective internal and external client or user relationships within own area of responsibilities
- Deliver Health & Safety policy and standards
- Respond to fault diagnosis, repair, and renewal works
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance works
- Participate in on‑site new installation product commissioning works
Required Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent qualification)
- Proven experience as a time‑served plumber
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and techniques
- Current technical background, preferably building services engineering related
- Good communication skills, able to work and adapt in a fast‑moving industry
Desirable
- Experience of building services engineering within district and community heating
- Experience of working within the construction industry
- Understanding of communal/district heating
- Experience of working as part of a team in a real working environment
- Ability to provide high levels of customer satisfaction – minimum 3 years’ experience of dealing with technical building services systems and related products
- Customer facing experience within this sector
