Switch2 is the market leader in the provision of bespoke energy metering, monitoring and billing services to high energy users such as hospitals, factories, residential apartments, commercial properties and industrial sites. Our client portfolio contains local authorities, universities, factories, housing associations, private landlords and utility energy suppliers. The company is now entering into an exciting new business sector and has already won over a dozen major contracts with large public sector property developers who now have to consider renewable energy in order to obtain planning permission for new build projects.
Despite a contracting economy, the Company has been through massive recent growth with record breaking sales and now seeks to strengthen its Service team with a Service engineer. The Field Services Engineer will be responsible for response and preventative planned maintenance works across a varied and wide range of metering, hydraulic and electrical controls systems installed primarily within residential properties. In addition, there will be a requirement to provide out of hours on call support to these activities within a structured on call rota basis.

Candidate requirements
- Essential
- Engineering qualification to a minimum NVQ level within a related field
- Current technical background, preferably building services engineering related
- Good communicator, able to work and adapt in a fast-moving industry
- Desirable
- Experience of building services engineering within district and community heating
- Experience of working within the construction industry
- Understanding communal/district heating
- Experience of working as part of a team in a real working environment
- Ability to provide high levels of customer satisfaction
Operational Accountabilities
- Deliver tasks and operations in line with timeline targets and requirements
- Self-Manage daily activities via use of a structured hand held system
- Operate within agreed operational and supervisory guidelines
- Maintain effective internal and external client or user relationships within own area of responsibilities
- Delivers Health and Safety policy and standards
The Candidate
Ideally qualified to NVQ level standard in a related discipline, standard development training will be part of the role. The candidate should ideally have min 3 years' experience of dealing with technical building services systems and related products. They should have a good technical understanding and previous experience in a similar services industry. Customer facing, they will have experience within this area and have a clear understanding of the need to provide high levels of customer satisfaction.
