We are looking for a motivated and talented individual to join our Consultancy Team as a Junior Heat Network Engineer, contributing to the delivery of low carbon heat network solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the design, analysis, and delivery of heat network consultancy projects. You will work alongside experienced engineers on a range of projects from feasibility studies through to detailed design and implementation support. It is preferable that you are familiar with the heat networks industry; and a minimum 1-2 years’ experience.
As a Junior Heat Network Engineer, you will support the delivery of consultancy services across a portfolio of heat network projects. This will include involvement in technical analysis, modelling, reporting, and client engagement activities. You will contribute to a wide variety of projects including new heat network developments, optimisation of existing systems, and decarbonisation strategies. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical foundation who is looking to develop their expertise in heat networks and energy systems. You will demonstrate a proactive approach to learning, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, client-ready outputs.
Responsibilities
- Liaising with clients on day-to-day project activities
- Producing draft technical reports, design outputs, and supporting documentation
- Supporting the development and maintenance of models, tools, and templates
- Assisting with site visits and surveys under guidance from senior engineers
- Managing elements of funding applications and general project administration
- Working to deadlines and taking ownership of assigned deliverables
Qualifications & Experience
- 1-2 years’ direct experience in relevant engineering heat network role
- A degree in Mechanical, Building Services, Energy Engineering, or a similar discipline
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Word
- Ability to interpret schematics and engineering drawings
- Experience with AutoCAD, referable but not required
