A growing high‑calibre tech consultancy is seeking Data Analysts of various levels, ideally with financial/investment experience. They’re a joint venture between two global leaders in consulting and investment management, assembling a team of exceptionally smart analysts, engineers, data specialists and technical leaders who can solve difficult problems, communicate well, and thrive in highly demanding environments.

They’re building financial teams across various disciplines, as well as technical leadership, with a particular focus on hiring exceptionally strong problem solvers rather than simply matching a specific tech stack. They’re looking for people who understand how things work under the hood, not just how to use the latest tools. The environment is geared towards people who enjoy tackling complex challenges, working closely with end users, and taking ownership from day one. Most of the work is greenfield, with separate divisions in financial services and defence-related projects, and will be creating insurance and energy divisions in the near future.

They’re hiring for, and value, Data Analysts who:

  • Enjoy working on challenging systems
  • Are friendly
  • Truly understand problem‑solving principles
  • Are adaptable and articulate

Data Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Understand, manage, and curate raw data content from various data vendors and the broader finance industry
  • Work with trading teams, investment quants and investment desks to provide data insights, analysis, and visualisations
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and address data needs and gaps
  • Evaluate data quality to ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy across all platforms
  • Develop and maintain data dictionaries and other documentation
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and Technology teams to implement and enhance data systems and processes
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in data content and tooling

Data Analyst requirements:

  • Knowledge of financial markets and investment management industry concepts across asset classes
  • Demonstrable interest in financial data and a desire to understand how data is used in investment management
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Adept in data analysis, visualisation tools, and techniques such as exploratory data analysis
  • Detail‑oriented mindset with a desire to go beyond superficial explanations
  • Clear communicator who can translate technical concepts for a non‑technical audience
  • Excellence in execution: cuts through complexity to deliver efficient solutions under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in a multi‑functional team, balancing individual ownership with collective delivery
  • Intellectually curious, questions assumptions and seeks root causes behind data patterns

Data Analyst additional criteria:

  • STEM Degree from a leading university (2:1 or above)
  • Experience in financial environments is advantageous, but not required
