A growing defence-tech consultancy is seeking Data Engineers of various levels and disciplines to build robust, scalable data platforms for defence clients. They are deliberately setting a very high bar, hiring engineers from top universities who are among the strongest technically in their field. The work is very problem-solving focused, small teams tackling complex systems, often working on completely new challenges every few months. You'll genuinely be working alongside some of the best engineers/teams in the country, solving problems no one else has before.
Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will design and maintain data pipelines and systems that support analytics and operational use cases.
- Building data pipelines and data-intensive applications.
- Developing in Python and SQL.
- Working with distributed systems (e.g. Spark, Databricks).
- Ensuring data quality, reliability, and performance.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
- Experience with modern data tooling and frameworks.
Qualifications / Requirements
- STEM Degree from a leading university (2:1 or above).
- Eligibility for UK SC-level security clearance.
- Experience in defence or highly regulated environments is advantageous, but not required.
