Reporting To: Technical Team Lead
As Aftermarket Technical Engineer, you will demonstrate expertise in mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, providing technical support to resolve in-service vehicle failures and quality concerns. You will apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex issues, identify root causes, and implement both short-term corrective actions and long-term improvements. You will effectively manage priorities in a fast-paced environment, making sound decisions independently while balancing customer expectations, operational requirements, and commercial objectives to minimise vehicle downtime and improve product performance.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES
- Experienced in collaborating with design, service, and customer teams to understand product requirements and deliver effective engineering solutions.
- Skilled in conducting detailed root cause analysis and failure investigations involving reliability, warranty, and component performance issues.
- Proven ability to diagnose complex vehicle and system faults, identify corrective actions, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Strong background in providing technical support to Aftersales, service centres, technicians, warranty teams, and customers.
- Experienced in managing product lifecycle activities, including warranty analysis, failure investigation, and engineering change implementation.
- Proficient in interpreting technical data, coordinating testing activities, and ensuring compliance with company change control processes.
- Effective communicator with the ability to present technical findings clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Dedicated to maintaining accurate engineering documentation, investigation records, and corrective action reports.
- Strong customer focus with the ability to respond rapidly to technical concerns and support product reliability improvements.

ESSENTIAL/DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Requirements:
- Extensive expertise in EV Systems, HV/LV architectures, diagnostics and fault finding.
- Strong knowledge of CANbus networks, vehicle electronics, powertrains, braking and pneumatic systems.
- Working knowledge of diagnostic and troubleshooting tools including JAL test, MBMS, CODI and other service diagnostic platforms.
- Knowledge in 3D CAD using CATIA and SolidWorks including part modelling and assembly drawing.
- Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings, technical reports, and diagnostic data.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
- Effective communicator, capable of presenting complex technical information clearly.
- Strong customer focus with experience negotiating practical and effective technical solutions.
- An ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and changing priorities.
- Clear communication through a variety of methods e.g. using visual tools, diagrams, drawings, reports.
- An ability to interpret engineering drawings, reports and other technical data.
- The ability to discuss and negotiate agreeable solutions to customer problems.
- Extensive PCV and/or HGV engineering experience.
