Overview
Transport Coordinator (Nights)
Location: Heathrow Airport
Transport Co-ordinator required for a busy logistics team in the air cargo industry, based at Heathrow Airport, specialising in moving Import and Export cargo from airport to airport through our own network of trucks and sub-contractors that covers the whole of the UK and Ireland, you will need to be computer literate and have a basic knowledge of transport planning/logistics.
Responsibilities
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The following responsibilities are associated with this job role:
- Using the inhouse trucking planning system to create bookings and to process the import/export trucks, assisting in the route planning for vehicles, assisting in planning the capacity needed on a day to day/week to week basis, maintaining the IT systems on a daily basis to reflect accurately the movements of the vehicles and trailers, liaising with the cargo team and customers to provide a seamless airport to airport service, assisting with the planning of AD HOC trucks as and when required, assisting with the collating and processing of paperwork and data required for billing purposes, assisting in the filing of POD/manifests and other general day to day admin tasks as required, answering calls and email queries from customers/agents/airlines in a timely professional manner.
- Requirements, preferable but not set in stone;
- Logistics and Transport experience, strong organisational skills, basic IT skills (EXCEL, WORD, and our own inhouse systems (for which training will be given)), strong communicator both over the phone and in person, able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- Flexible to work a variety of shifts (days, evening, nights, weekends, and public holidays);
- Flexible Work attitude is must
- Ability to speak and understand the English language competently
- Ability to travel to the airport at times where public transport is not available
- Ability to follow processes and procedures and apply flexible approach when required
- Willingness to work in inclement weather
- Able to work in a manual environment and repeatedly lift up to 32kg throughout a shift.
- Able to work in some confined spaces
- Able to work as a team in a fast paced and challenging environment
- Hold a full driving licence
- Previous experience working in an aviation environment desirable
