Overview
As a QHSE Support Advisor, you\’\’ll play a key role in implementing Swissport\’\’s safety management policies at a local level—ensuring a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment for all employees. You\’\’ll be instrumental in driving continuous improvement and maintaining high standards across our station operations.
Responsibilities
- Implement safety management standards across the station
- Lead monthly Safety Management and Employee Health & Safety Committee meetings
- Report safety performance metrics to Station Management
- Ensure accurate reporting and recording of hazards and incidents
- Lead investigations into safety occurrences in line with corporate protocols
- Conduct internal safety audits and monitor corrective actions
- Maintain and update the station\’\’s operational risk register
- Key Performance Indicators: Delivery of leading and lagging QHSE indicators, achievement of compliance and assurance certifications, effective implementation of the Swissport Global Management System
Qualifications & Essential Skills
- Experience in aviation ground handling or cargo operations (desirable but not essential)
- Ability to lead by example and embrace change
- Strong communication skills to align teams with Swissport\’\’s strategic direction
- Collaborative mindset and openness to diverse perspectives
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
- Passion for continuous improvement and service excellence
- Personal integrity and professionalism in all interactions
Competencies
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent (or working towards)
- IOSH membership (desirable)
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene (CIEH qualification desirable)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in safety management or systems
- Basic knowledge of UK safety laws and industry regulations
- Proficient in MS Office
