As a Swissport Cargo Warehouse Agent based at Gatwick International Airport, you will organize warehouse and storage facilities, arrange warehouse handling equipment, and load/unload air cargo. You will maintain safety and quality standards, comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and adhere to company policies.
Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading air cargo onto vehicles and storage areas
- Preparing and palletizing cargo as needed
- Ensuring paperwork related to the cargo is correct
- Handling and delivering cargo properly and operating related equipment
- Following Dangerous Goods requirements and regulations
- Delivering air cargo to recipients if required
- Providing special handling for live animals as needed
- Driving and operating specialist equipment such as vans, forklifts, cargo dollies/trailers
- Reporting equipment malfunctions to supervisors or managers
- Complying with relevant legislation, airport authority, and carrier security requirements
- Following Swissport SOPs
- Maintaining high safety and security standards at all times
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Flexibility to work various shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, public holidays)
- Ability to speak and understand English
- Availability to travel to the airport when public transport is unavailable
- Ability to follow processes and procedures with flexibility
- Willingness to work in inclement weather
- Ability to work in a manual environment, lifting up to 32kg repeatedly
- Teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
- A full driving license is preferred
- Previous experience in an aviation environment is desirable
