Air Freight Transport Coordinator (Nights) – Heathrow Airport
Location: Heathrow Airport
We are currently seeking an experienced Transport Coordinator to join our dynamic air cargo operations team based at Heathrow Airport. This night shift position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth movement of import and export cargo from airport to airport across the UK and Ireland, utilising our network of dedicated trucks and trusted sub-contractors.
This is a cargo-focused role requiring proven experience within air freight operations. Candidates must be air freight literate and familiar with transport planning and logistics processes in a fast-paced airport environment.
Responsibilities

Manage and process bookings using the in-house trucking planning system

Plan vehicle routes and assess capacity requirements on a daily/weekly basis

Ensure IT systems reflect accurate vehicle and trailer movements

Liaise effectively with cargo teams, airlines, agents, and customers to ensure a seamless service

Coordinate AD HOC truck planning when needed

Collate and manage documentation for billing and operational records (including PODs and manifests)

Handle incoming calls and emails with professionalism and urgency

General administration to support smooth logistics flow
Qualifications
-
Essential: Previous experience in air freight/cargo transport operations

Working knowledge of MAWB numbers, Q6/Q7 pallet types, tacho hours is highly advantageous

Strong understanding of logistics systems; experience with Excel, Word, and transport platforms

Ability to work independently in a lone-worker setting and manage workloads with minimal supervision

Excellent communication skills — confident over the phone and in person

Strong organisational skills, adaptable and calm under pressure

Willingness to work in inclement weather and manual environments (lifting up to 32kg)

Must hold a valid full UK driving licence.
