Reporting to: Workshop Manager

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair non-motorised GSE, ensuring all work meets manufacturer and regulatory standards
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks to recognised industry standards
  • Carry out routine servicing, refurbishment, and minor bodywork/branding repairs
  • Ensure safe working practices, especially when handling hazardous substances
  • Keep accurate maintenance records using our computer-based fleet management system
  • Support workshop cleanliness and report defects promptly
  • Provide cover at other Swissport fleet workshops when needed
  • Share knowledge and support the development of colleagues
  • Participate in training and development to maintain professional standards

Qualifications

  • Recognised welding/fabrication qualification or equivalent
  • Technical apprenticeship to NVQ Level 2 or similar
  • Solid mechanical engineering experience
  • Proficiency in basic engineering, sheet metalwork, and use of workshop tools
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling up to 25kg
  • Flexible to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Full valid UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel for training or support at other stations
