About the Role: As a Bag Hall Agent with Swissport, you will be responsible for handling and processing baggage in a timely and efficient manner to facilitate smooth operations within the airport environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, and load baggage onto conveyor belts and handling equipment for transportation to aircraft or storage areas.
- Utilise automated baggage handling systems and equipment to track, scan, and transfer luggage to designated flights or destinations.
- Ensure compliance with airline and airport security procedures and regulations while handling and processing baggage.
- Coordinate with airline representatives, ground crews, and other stakeholders to prioritise baggage handling and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness, organisation, and safety of the bag hall area, including conveyor belts, sorting stations, and storage facilities.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, maintenance issues, or safety hazards to supervisors and follow established protocols for troubleshooting and resolution.
- Assist passengers with lost or delayed baggage inquiries, providing support and guidance in locating and retrieving their belongings.
- Adhere to Swissport’s standards of service excellence, professionalism, and teamwork in all interactions and tasks.
- Ensure deployment of the environmental processes and procedures, referring to the QHSE Manual.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in baggage handling, logistics, warehouse operations, or a similar role is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment with strict deadlines and priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, supervisors, and external stakeholders.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational requirements.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift, carry, and manoeuvre heavy baggage and cargo items as needed.
- Must possess a valid FULL EUROPEAN MANUAL driver's license and be able to pass a background check.
