As a Cargo Clerical Supervisor-UK, you will play a vital role in our warehouse and airport operation and provide efficient and effective local administrative support. The pay for this role is fixed at £34,631.69 annually. One role is for Radius Park and the other is at Building 582.

Responsibilities

  • To motivate, engage and inspire staff to deliver the best possible service as well as maintain excellent relationships with customers and authorities.
  • Supervise/allocate tasks including reporting absences and overtime.
  • Plan and deploy resource to meet customer and operational requirements.
  • Develop an open feedback culture by managing the performance of employees and ensure workplace standards are maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with all Swissport corporate safety and security procedures in order to meet/exceed regulatory standards that deliver the desired customer service experience.
  • Comply with all relevant legislation as well as airport authority and carrier security requirements.
  • Comply with Swissport policies, procedures and processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date manuals and documentation as required.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and airport authorities.
  • Encourage consistency and collaboration by ensuring clear communication at all levels.
  • Ensure compliance with Swissport's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Resolve conflict and irregularities and take appropriate action.
  • On the job guiding, coaching and mentoring.
  • Signing off break/build documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Flexible to work a variety of shifts (days, evening, nights, weekends, and public holidays).
  • Ability to speak and understand the English language.
  • Ability to travel to the airport at times when public transport is not available.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Able to work as part of a team in a challenging environment.
  • Previous experience working in an aviation environment is desired.
  • Demonstrable supervisory experience for at least three years.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A full driving licence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn relevant computer systems.
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures and apply flexible approach when required.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.

Career Progression

  • Satisfactory completion of three years continuous service (typically).
  • Attainment of competency in all basic, intermediate and advanced tasks and duties.
  • Understanding and acceptance of the requirement to undertake additional duties and responsibilities associated with the seniority of this role.
  • Further progression / promotion - subject to successful application to job vacancies arising.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Customer satisfaction recorded through compliments received / complaints minimised.
  • All documentation / data input completed accurately and on time.
  • Quantity of Airway Bills / Worked Hours target met and exceeded.
  • Departure of Flight Messaging targets met and exceeded.

Tasks & Activities

  • Ensure Compliance with all Swissport Operating Procedures (including site safety rules).
  • Ensure compliance with all Uniform and PPE Requirements.
  • Issue Employee Recognition Notices as and when required.
  • On-the-job guidance and coaching / Mentoring and Assessment of staff.
  • Supervisory skills course or Competent Supervisory Skills satisfactorily completed.
  • Supervise Emergency Procedures.
  • Supervise all Operations for which the job holder is responsible.
  • Stand-in for Supervisor or Equivalent as required (ad hoc / short term basis).
