Swisslog are currently seeking a Controls Service Engineer based in the Midlands. The position can be home based with travel to customer sites as required.

Make an impact

As a Controls Service Engineer for fully automated intralogistics systems, you will play a key role in operations. Your main tasks include:

  • On-call services, where you will intervene quickly and efficiently in the event of malfunctions.
  • Providing remote 2nd- and 3rd-level support to ensure the systems operate smoothly.
  • Independently managing smaller projects, leveraging your comprehensive technical expertise.
  • Demonstrating specialist knowledge during the retrofitting and modernization of existing systems.
  • Creating detailed documentation and actively sharing knowledge with the team.

With travel up to 20%, you will assist on-site with customer issues or support project implementation as needed. You will also create and maintain good relations with customers (internal and external) and represent the company at internal and external meetings.

What you need to succeed

You should ideally have:

  • A degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, or mechatronics, or a comparable qualification such as an HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Solid experience in PLC programming, especially with TIA, S7, or Beckhoff TwinCat2/3.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in fieldbus systems, HMI systems, and frequency converters.
  • The ability to read electrical schematics and practical experience in troubleshooting electrical and control technologies.
  • Application knowledge of industrial warehouse systems would be a distinct advantage.
  • The ability to travel to customer sites when required.
