Do you thrive at the intersection of technical excellence, strategic thinking, and client relationships? If you're ready to play a leading role in shaping the future of structured reinsurance solutions at Swiss Re then consider applying.

About the Role

This is a high-impact, senior-level role at the heart of Swiss Re's P&C Structured UK & Ireland team, based in London. You will originate, structure, and lead deal teams on some of the more complex and high-value transactions in the market. This role offers great exposure to senior and group executive management, a platform to influence strategic direction, and the opportunity to grow both personally and as part of a talented team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate and execute complex, large-scale P&C structured reinsurance transactions within the London Market, contributing to our ambition of delivering 35% of P&C reinsurance margin globally.
  • Support Regional Transactional Leaders in identifying and formulating key strategic and tactical themes to position transactions effectively in the market and strengthen Swiss Re's position as the go-to partner for transactional expertise and structured solutions.
  • Develop relationship capital with client markets, brokers, and alternative distribution channels to source and convert transactional opportunities, including cross-selling structured solutions across all lines of business.
  • Lead cross-functional deal teams to market, structure, and close innovative reinsurance transactions for P&C cedents within the UK and Ireland, designing creative, tailor-made solutions that meet client needs while remaining within Swiss Re's risk appetite.
  • Provide structural integrity and underwriting sign-off for deals in line with the agreed charter, ensuring quality and rigour at every stage.
  • Drive execution excellence by liaising effectively with specialist functions including reserving, actuarial, finance, claims, and business management, while supporting deal reporting, performance management and clear stakeholder communication.
  • Coach and develop the extended community of Designated Structurers, building on transactional DNA and elevating capabilities across the full deal lifecycle from origination through to closing.
  • Drive knowledge sharing and innovation, raising the bar on team capabilities and challenging our risk appetite in a forward-thinking way.

About the Team

You'll be joining a great team, over 50 talented professionals spread across the globe, collectively generating meaningful transactional business volume year on year. The P&C Structured Solutions (PCSS) team has a culture that is genuinely unique: collaborative, high-performing, and deeply committed to one another's success. In this role, you'll work extensively with colleagues across client markets, business development, and P&C teams globally. The team provides structured reinsurance and capital management solutions to P&C clients, assumes P&C insurance risk in non-traditional formats, and actively seeks opportunities to cross-sell across all lines of business. Whether you're a seasoned expert or someone who has built deep expertise through diverse experience, you'll find a platform here for rapid personal development and meaningful growth.

About You

You are a curious, driven, and collaborative professional who brings both deep technical knowledge and strong interpersonal skills to everything you do. You're comfortable navigating ambiguity, energised by complex challenges, and skilled at balancing rigorous analytical thinking with the ability to step back and see the bigger picture. You build trust naturally — with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders — and you're passionate about finding solutions that work for everyone.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the financial services and/or reinsurance industries, with hands-on experience in underwriting, structuring, or marketing tailor-made reinsurance solutions.
  • Emotional intelligence, drive and adaptability with the ability to read situations, adjust your approach, and bring people with you through change.
  • Outstanding analytical capabilities combined with a strong understanding of reinsurance risk, pricing, and actuarial principles.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with deep proficiency in capital management, corporate finance, valuations, and a solid grasp of accounting, tax, legal, regulatory, and compliance principles.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage large, cross-functional teams in a multi-cultural and virtual team environment.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with a track record of navigating and positioning strategic projects or executing complex transactions.

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Actuarial or corporate finance qualifications (e.g., ACAS, FCAS, CFA or equivalent) are a strong advantage.
  • Graduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., mathematics, economics, finance, or actuarial science).
  • Experience working in the London Market, with an understanding of regulatory and market nuances.
  • Excellent networking skills and established relationships within the reinsurance, broker, or capital markets community.
  • A passion for people development, with experience mentoring or coaching colleagues in technical or transactional skills.
