About the Role
As our Head of Credit, you\'ll sit at the intersection of risk management, capital optimization, and strategic decision-making. You\'ll lead a specialized team that safeguards our financial strength while enabling business growth through sophisticated credit structures and financing solutions tailored to the reinsurance sector.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Leadership & Governance: Design and execute a comprehensive credit risk framework for reinsurance counterparties while defining credit limits and representing the credit function at senior management and board-level committees.
• Portfolio & Risk Management: Evaluate and manage credit risk across reinsurance receivables and structured transactions, partnering with structuring and actuarial teams to assess credit implications of complex deals.
• Pricing & Analysis: Develop sophisticated pricing models that incorporate credit risk factors, collaborate with underwriting teams, and analyze market data to ensure competitive and compliant pricing strategies.
• Financial Optimization: Lead strategies for optimizing liquidity and cash flows, interface with treasury for financing needs, and assess regulatory impacts on the firm\'s credit structures.
• Rating & Compliance: Oversee internal credit ratings, maintain risk-adjusted pricing consistency, and navigate regulatory requirements to ensure alignment with industry standards and capital models.

You\'re a strategic thinker with exceptional analytical abilities and a talent for translating complex credit concepts into practical business solutions. You thrive in collaborative environments while providing authoritative leadership on credit matters. Your communication skills allow you to influence at all levels, from technical specialists to executive management, and you\'re passionate about developing frameworks that balance risk management with business enablement.
We need you to bring in the following must haves:
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related discipline; advanced degree or professional certifications (CFA/FRM) preferred
• Extensive experience in credit risk management, with substantial exposure to (re)insurance or structured finance
• Strong understanding of reinsurance structures and their associated credit implications
• Demonstrated experience managing complex credit arrangements and reinsurance trust structures
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing credit teams in a global financial organization
These are additional nice to haves:
• Experience working with rating agencies and regulators on credit-related matters
• Knowledge of advanced credit modeling methodologies and relevant technologies
• Proficiency with capital models (Solvency II, AM Best, S&P, Moody\'s)
