Role Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with business users (e.g., documentation, operations, customer service, sales) to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into functional specifications.
  • Provide day-to-day support for shipping applications, including issue investigation, root cause analysis, and resolution coordination.
  • Analyze and optimize existing business processes and system workflows related to liner shipping operations.
  • Liaise with vendors and internal IT teams to manage system enhancements, bug fixes, and change requests.
  • Participate in system implementation, upgrades, integration, testing (UAT), and training activities.
  • Develop and maintain business process documentation, user guides, and training materials.
  • Ensure application configurations meet evolving business and regulatory requirements.
  • Support and troubleshoot system issues, leveraging SQL, interface logs, and business process knowledge to identify root causes.
  • Conduct data analysis and generate reports to support business operations and decision-making.
  • Work closely with vendors to ensure solutions are tested and delivered to production accurately.
  • Monitor application performance and proactively suggest improvements or preventive measures.
  • Support application upgrades, rollouts of new modules, and ERP/system transformation projects.

Project Management

  • Support the analysis of business initiatives; provide input to the development of business cases and project measurement objectives.
  • Prepare feasibility studies; recommend and establish program objectives, priorities and schedules in conjunction with user and functional requirements and conduct end-user training, as needed, for assigned applications.
  • Work with business stakeholders and/or vendor for project acceptance tests.
  • Manage overall coordination of IT applications development projects from planning through implementation, including setting up project scope, priorities and deliverable schedules in line with the business users.
  • Facilitate discussions and consensus among various project stakeholders.

Key Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 6–10 years of experience in application/business systems analysis, with at least 3+ years in liner shipping systems (e.g., Solverminds, CargoWise, in-house ERP, legacy terminal systems).
  • Strong knowledge of shipping workflows such as booking, BL/documentation, scheduling, EDI, and cargo tracking.
  • Hands-on experience with shipping or logistics applications (e.g., CargoWise, Solverminds, INTTRA, GT Nexus, or proprietary shipping platforms).
  • Deep understanding of liner shipping operations, including booking lifecycle, BL issuance, vessel scheduling, and equipment management.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.

  • Knowledge of shipping EDI standards (e.g., EDIFACT, VERMAS, COPRAR, CODECO) and API-based integrations (REST, JSON, XML).
  • Experience working with system logs.
