Join a Workshop That Values Skill, Quality and Work-Life Balance

Our client is a long-established, family-owned independent automotive business with an excellent reputation for delivering first-class customer service and high-quality vehicle maintenance. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their friendly and professional workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who enjoys a varied workload without the pressure of undertaking major engine or gearbox rebuilds. The workshop specialises in fast-fit and routine mechanical work, making it an ideal environment for someone who enjoys servicing, repairs and keeping vehicles safely on the road.

The Role

As a Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on a wide range of vehicles, ensuring every job is completed efficiently and to the highest possible standard. Working as part of an experienced team, you'll undertake a varied workload including servicing, brakes, suspension, steering components, exhausts, tyres and MOT repairs, helping to deliver an outstanding service to every customer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing and vehicle maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults.
  • Replace braking systems and components.
  • Carry out suspension and steering repairs.
  • Complete MOT preparation and repair work.
  • Fit tyres, exhausts and other fast-fit components.
  • Conduct vehicle health checks and identify additional work where appropriate.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with manufacturer and company standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an excellent customer experience.

About You

We're looking for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys being part of a close-knit team. Ideally you'll have:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician within a busy workshop.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience carrying out servicing, brakes, suspension, steering, exhausts and MOT repairs.
  • A positive, reliable and professional approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A genuine passion for the automotive industry.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Please note, this role does not involve major engine rebuilds, gearbox repairs or heavy mechanical work. It is focused on delivering high-quality fast-fit and general mechanical repairs in a busy, customer-focused workshop.

What's on Offer?

  • £36,000 - £38,000 basic salary depending on experience.
  • No weekend working.
  • Stable, full-time permanent position.
  • Friendly, family-owned business with an excellent reputation.
