Our client is one of the UKs leading garage equipment companies, providing repair, maintenance, installation, and sales solutions to fast-fit centres, dealerships, independent garages, and commercial fleet operators. Our client is committed to continuous improvement, and as a PDI & Quality Manager you will be responsible for overseeing and optimising the presale operations for a range of garage equipment, ensuring that equipment undergoes rigorous quality inspections and testing to ensure equipment will meet industry regulations, company standards and requirements, as well as meeting the customers' expectations.
Working with several different departments, reporting directly to the Head of Technical & Training, you will also be managing the existing team.
Location: CW4 (NDC) and HX7 (Head Office)
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee PDI department.
- Responsible for the new product introduction process.
- Conduct product testing, working with manufacturers for continuous improvements and R&D.
- Managing CE / Government approvals to ensure the business and products are compliant.
- Conduct regular equipment batch testing to ensure quality is maintained.
- Provide technical feedback for marketing, sales and supplier development for warranty rates and continuous improvement.
- Support marketing, sales and supplier development with technical recommendations and specifications for existing and new products.
- Develop partnerships with key product suppliers / manufacturers / product managers.
- Work closely with Technical and Training department.
- Update and maintain RAMS for new and existing products.
- Create processes and procedures for PDI department.
- Inspect returned parts and equipment in line with warranty procedure.
- Manage quarantined stock / repairs.
- Other duties as required by the business.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Need to be able to commute between Head Office (HX7) and NDC (CW4).
- Knowledge of the technical training department is an advantage.
- A good knowledge of a wide range of equipment.
- Forensic level attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent levels of communication at all levels.
- Attend training as required by the role including but not limited to first aid and fire marshal training.
