Our client is a highly respected, family-owned independent automotive business with an outstanding reputation for quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join their skilled workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished technician who enjoys fault finding, problem solving and working on a wide variety of vehicles. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting both the workshop and customers by accurately diagnosing faults, identifying the correct repair solution and carrying out repairs to the highest possible standard.
The Role:
- Identify mechanical and electrical faults using the latest diagnostic equipment and your own technical expertise.
- Understand the root cause of vehicle issues, recommend the most appropriate repair solution and complete the work efficiently.
- Provide technical guidance and support on more challenging repair cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic vehicle faults.
- Identify root causes and recommend the correct repair solution.
- Carry out repairs following accurate diagnosis.
- Use manufacturer and aftermarket diagnostic equipment effectively.
- Support other technicians with complex technical issues.
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and MOT repairs where required.
- Complete all repairs safely and to the highest standard.
- Ensure accurate job records and repair information are maintained.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Deliver excellent workmanship and outstanding customer satisfaction.
About You:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Proven experience working as a Diagnostic Technician.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Strong understanding of modern vehicle electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience using manufacturer and multi-brand diagnostic equipment.
- The ability to interpret technical data and identify the most effective repair methods.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- A positive, reliable and professional attitude.
- A genuine passion for the automotive industry.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
