Looking for more than just payroll? We're working with a highly regarded independent accountancy practice in Rugby that is looking to welcome a Payroll & Accounts Assistant to its friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll experience who enjoys working closely with clients and wants to broaden their experience within a professional accountancy practice.

You'll become an important part of a close-knit team where your contribution is genuinely valued and where you'll have the opportunity to support a variety of accounting and administration activities alongside your core payroll responsibilities.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Your primary responsibility will be managing payroll for a portfolio of clients, ensuring all payrolls are processed accurately and on time.
  • You'll also support the wider practice with:
    • Bookkeeping
    • VAT administration
    • Accounts support
    • Client administration
    • General office duties

No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety and working as part of a collaborative team.

We're Looking For Someone Who Has

  • Payroll experience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Experience working to deadlines
  • Great communication skills
  • A professional and positive attitude

Ideally you'll also have some bookkeeping or accountancy experience gained within an accountancy practice, although candidates studying AAT or looking to further develop their accounting knowledge are also encouraged to apply. Experience using payroll software such as Sage Payroll, BrightPay, Xero Payroll or similar would be highly advantageous.
