Level 3 Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester in Avonmouth, Bristol. £38,000 - £45,000 DOE | Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Join a garage where quality comes first. Are you a fully qualified Level 3 Vehicle Technician who also holds an MOT Testing licence? Are you looking for a role where you can use your technical skills, continue developing your knowledge and work for a business that genuinely values its people?
Our client is a well-established family-owned independent automotive business in Avonmouth, Bristol, with a loyal customer base and an excellent reputation for quality workmanship and customer service. Following their move to a modern, purpose-outfitted facility, they are looking for two experienced Level 3 Technicians/MOT Testers to join their established team.
This isn't a numbers game. The business takes pride in doing things properly. Their Class 4 and Class 7 MOT facility operates as an ATL lane, and typically allows around 1 hour 15 minutes per MOT. Why? Because they want technicians to have the time to carry out a thorough MOT and complete a proper vehicle health check rather than simply rushing vehicles through the lane. Quality over quantity.
What we're looking for:
- Fully qualified Level 3 Vehicle Technician with a current MOT Testing licence
- Strong practical experience across general vehicle maintenance and repair
- Experience with servicing and routine maintenance
- Mechanical repairs
- Brakes, suspension and steering
- Clutches and timing systems
- Fault finding and diagnostics
- Electrical systems
- MOT testing
- Vehicle health checks
- Working across a wide range of makes and models
We're particularly interested in technicians who are confident with diagnostics and more complex fault finding, rather than those who only want to concentrate on routine servicing and MOTs.
More than just your qualifications:
Technical ability is important. But so is the person behind the tools. Our client is looking for technicians who are:
- Professional
- Respectful
- Reliable
- Good communicators
- Customer-focused
- Team players
- Keen to learn
- Proud of their workmanship
You'll be joining a team where long service is valued and where people are treated with respect.
Training that actually means something:
One of the things that makes this opportunity particularly interesting is the company's approach to training and development. They routinely support their technicians in achieving higher qualifications and developing their technical capabilities. Technicians are encouraged to identify areas where they want to develop, and where appropriate, the company will support those requests with further training and qualifications.
What's on offer?
- £38,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
- Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
- No weekend working
- Salary review following successful completion of the 3-month probationary period
- Enhanced pension contributions
- Employee parts discount scheme
- Modern, purpose-outfitted workshop in Avonmouth
- Class 4 & Class 7 MOT testing ATL MOT lane
- Strong existing team with excellent long-service levels
- Ongoing training and professional development
Why make the move?
This is an opportunity to join an established family business that has built its reputation on doing things properly. You'll have the opportunity to work in a modern facility, deal with a loyal customer base and carry out work to a standard that allows you to take pride in what you do. And unlike many workshop roles: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. No weekends.
If you're a Level 3 Technician with an MOT licence and you're looking for a long-term move where your skills, development and work-life balance are genuinely valued, we'd like to hear from you.
