Samuel’s Restaurant is a modern British brasserie, delivering elegant, seasonal cuisine inspired by our Estate to Plate philosophy. Using the finest estate grown and locally sourced ingredients, the team is dedicated to excellence, attention to detail, and truly exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest standards of guest service across all dining experiences, including breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, and room service.
  • Ensure every guest receives a warm welcome, attentive service, and a flawless dining experience while supporting the smooth operation and cleanliness of the Food & Beverage department.

Business & Commercial Awareness

  • Develop and maintain strong product knowledge across all food and beverage offerings.
  • Identify opportunities to promote and upsell menu items, beverages, and estate experiences.
  • Follow all cash handling procedures accurately and responsibly.
  • Ensure all guest payments are processed correctly and securely.

Team Collaboration & Support

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues across the restaurant, kitchen, and wider estate.
  • Support team members during busy service periods.
  • Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as requested by Supervisors and Managers.

Service Quality & Guest Experience

  • Develop a thorough understanding of restaurant menus, wine lists, hotel facilities, and estate offerings.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service at all times, exceeding expectations wherever possible.
  • Follow all Food & Beverage Standard Operating Procedures consistently.
  • Ensure all glasses, crockery, and cutlery are polished and presented to the highest standard.
  • Assist within the still room as required during preparation and service periods.
  • Deliver food and beverage orders efficiently, professionally, and accurately.
  • Prepare and deliver room service orders to the required standard and within agreed timescales.
  • Clear and reset tables promptly and professionally.
  • Communicate any service delays or operational challenges to senior team members immediately.
  • Build rapport with guests by recognising returning visitors and providing personalised service where appropriate.
  • Report for duty on time, in the correct uniform, and presented in accordance with company standards.
  • Attend all required training sessions and development activities.

Health, Safety & Professional Standards

  • Adhere to all departmental health, safety, and emergency procedures.
  • Report hazards, incidents, and maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Work safely and responsibly at all times.
  • Maintain clean, organised, and sanitary work areas.
  • Ensure all equipment and materials are used correctly and report any faults immediately.

About You

  • Have previous experience in a hospitality, restaurant, or customer service role (preferred but not essential).
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have a genuine passion for hospitality and guest service.
  • Be confident working in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Be a team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Show strong attention to detail and presentation standards.
  • Be flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Be eager to learn and develop within a luxury hospitality environment.
