Your next role

As a Waste Driver (HGV), you’ll drive and be responsible for the allocated vehicles when collecting waste and recycling, working to a high standard. Duties will include vehicle checks, routine maintenance (oil and water) and cleaning (using wash bay). You’ll transport goods equipment and personnel. You’ll operate vehicle machinery in the manner it was intended, observing and carrying out all safety regulations and procedures.

What you’ll need

As a minimum you will need to show that you meet the following requirements of the role:

  • Hold a current HGV licence
  • Experience of driving refuse/recycling vehicles
  • Experience of collecting and recycling waste materials
  • Appreciation and understanding of Health and Safety
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Be available to work bank holidays (excluding Christmas and Boxing Day)
  • Able to work in the various conditions (see role profile for details)

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
