Overview
As Lead for Domestic Abuse and VAWG, you will shape strategic responses and influence policy to improve safety for victims. You will work with partners across Swindon to deliver effective services and safer communities. This role drives transformation in how we address domestic abuse and violence against women and girls, translating strategy into practical delivery. You’ll join a forward-looking council on a mission to improve public services and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Shape and influence strategic responses to domestic abuse and VAWG
- Engage with partners across agencies to deliver safer communities
- Translate policy and strategy into effective delivery
- Represent the council in safeguarding, public protection and community safety
- Contribute to transformation programmes and service delivery improvements
- Support information governance and safeguarding responsibilities as required
Key requirements
- Experience in domestic abuse, community safety, safeguarding, or related fields
- Formal training in Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women and Girls or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience working in multi-agency partnerships
- Understanding of relevant legislation and information governance requirements
- Fluency in English
- Ability to travel across the Borough and access to a car
- Enhanced DBS check required
