We are seeking a Production Machinist to operate both conventional manual and CNC centre lathes. The successful candidate will be required to produce a wide range of components from drawings, working to tight tolerances and surface finishes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacturing components efficiently and to a high standard
  • Accurately recording final dimensions and surface finishes of all components
  • Involvement of day-to-day workshop in relation to quality, H&S and environmental activities.
  • Interpret engineering data and documentation such as engineering drawings, technical data and computer-generated programmes
  • Work under minimum supervision, taking responsibility for the quality and accuracy of the work you undertake
  • Be pro-active in finding solutions to problems and identifying areas for improving the business
  • Ensure standard work practices and procedures are being followed
  • Make regular planned maintenance checks to ensure machinery is operating correctly

Experience required:

  • HNC Level in Manufacturing or similar engineering discipline
  • Working knowledge of manual & CNC lathes
  • Ability to work to instruction and on own initiative
  • Selecting and using a range of measuring and testing equipment to check components are to the required quality and accuracy
  • Able to read and interpret engineering data
  • Able to demonstrate problem solving skills to solve and repair issues efficiently and effectively
  • Experience of operating Fanuc control, 3-Axis Doosan Puma lathes with live tooling would be an advantage, but not essential
