The Event Manager will develop and deliver SwimTrek’s Events Series, ensuring each event is customer focused, operationally excellent and aligned with SwimTrek’s goals and values. The role requires high levels of organisation, adaptability and self-management to successfully deliver events, drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Senior Management Team, the key responsibilities of the role are:

What We’re Looking For:

- Experience managing health and safety decisions in event environments.
- Health & safety & risk: risk assessments, method statements, emergency planning, incident reporting, fire safety basics, crowd flow/capacity.
- Stakeholder & supplier management: scopes/SOWs, SLAs, KPIs, negotiation, venue and vendor contracting.
- Evidence of delivering events end-to-end (pre-prod → live → debrief).
- Evidence of improving safety, cost efficiency, and attendee satisfaction over successive events.
- Experience of using initiative to solve problems.
- Experience using Microsoft Office effectively for general administration.
- Experience of negotiating and supplier contracts.
- Experience managing budgets.
- Ability to manage a team both within an office environment as well as overseas.
- Ability to negotiate contracts with a variety of different suppliers.
- Previous water safety experience.
- To be able to speak a foreign language.
- Experience in a similar role in a similar organisation.
- Knowledge of open-water environments and associated operational and safety risks.
- Understanding of open-water swimming practices and event operations.
- Knowledge of open water swimming.
- To hold a full Drivers Licence.
- IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent), basic First Aid, Fire Marshal/Warden, Crowd Safety/Stewarding (Level 2/3 or equivalent).
- Sustainability: ISO 20121 awareness; Carbon Literacy or similar; waste minimisation/green procurement.
- Project management: PRINCE2 Foundation, or PMP/CAPM.
- Experience in water safety roles or open-water event environments.
- Personal open-water swimming experience.
- Experience managing diverse or international teams.
- Experience working overseas.
- Background in the travel, adventure, or outdoor events industry.

- FLEXIBLE HOURS: Between 8AM-6PM with remote working options.
