The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 ÂŁ per year.

To be responsible for the assessment, treatment and management of patients, provide advice and education to health care professionals and carers, and work closely with the multi‑disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive examination and assessment of patients, including those with diverse presentations and multiple pathologies, using clinical reasoning skills and manual examination techniques to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.
  • Develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme based on the assessment, and continually re‑examine the patient’s response to treatment, modifying the programme accordingly.
  • Organise and manage own caseload within delegated areas of the service, with ongoing support from a senior therapist.
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the multi‑disciplinary team, physiotherapy colleagues, and external agencies such as social services.
  • Delegate responsibilities as appropriate, e.g. to assistants and clerical staff.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records and provide written communication such as letters and reports in line with Trust and CSP guidelines.
  • Participate in the evaluation of the service, implementation of new working practices, and compliance with organisational policies and procedures.

Professional Development

  • Apply evidence‑based practice and continually evaluate clinical practice, modifying approach in line with team and organisational objectives.
  • Select and apply appropriate clinical outcome measures to support service effectiveness.
  • Identify personal training needs and maintain up-to-date clinical expertise by using appropriate learning opportunities.
  • Participate in protected learning time, including delivery of education after external courses and internal courses organised by the physiotherapy department.
  • Engage with the Individual Performance Review system.

Education and Research

  • Provide advice and education to patients, GPs and other health care professionals.
  • Involve in training of health care professionals and carers.
  • Participate in relevant audit to meet HCC and NHSLA requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Experience of working as an undergraduate/post‑graduate within the last nine months, across a range of settings with a diverse patient population.
  • Experience of working as part of a multi‑disciplinary and/or physiotherapy team.
  • Experience of organising and prioritising own workload and delegating responsibilities appropriately.
  • Desirable: Post‑graduate experience in an NHS setting and experience in Neurology.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Understanding of quality issues and ability to work under supervision and autonomously where suitable.
  • Demonstrated underpinning theory of professional knowledge acquired through the undergraduate programme.
  • Knowledge of a range of approaches to physiotherapy management of a variety of disorders.
  • Evidence of clinical reasoning skills.
  • Strong organisational, planning and time‑management skills.
  • Effective communication skills with patients, health professionals and other agencies.
  • IT literacy and basic resuscitation skills.
  • Desirable: Involvement in relevant clinical audit and ability to educate other health professionals, including students.
