Are you an enthusiastic swimming coach ready to make an impact? Hart Swimming Clubin Fleet is looking for an enthusiasticSwimming Coach to help shape our future, focusing on swimmers who are County level and looking to progress to Regionals.

This part-time role offers the opportunity to be part of a growing, inclusive club with a vibrant Age Group and Youth Performance section, a strong junior skills program, a thriving Masters squad, and a passionate community of swimmers, coaches, and volunteers.

A Swim England Affiliated and SwimMark Accredited club with a strong track record spanning County to International success, we balance participation and competition across our 150-swimmer membership.

This part-time role offers the chance to work alongside our Head of Swimming and coaching team, inspiring and developing swimmers to reach their full potential. We value energy, commitment, and a passion for high-quality coaching. Opportunities for leading coaching projects and personal development in other areas are available.

You\’ll be responsible for planning and delivering competitive squad training, with squad allocation based on experience but focused on County-level swimmers. Join us and be part of a growing, inclusive, and ambitious club!

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver training sessions aligned with our club’s training development program.
  • Motivate and inspire swimmers through engaging, high-quality coaching.
  • Support swimmers’ individual development and progression, providing feedback to swimmers, parents, and the Head of Swimming.
  • Track attendance, performance, and progress, holding meetings as needed.
  • Assess swimmers against the club’s criteria, ensuring appropriate squad progression.
  • Provide technical feedback, correct faults, and advise on competition preparation.
  • Consider individual needs (fitness, medical conditions, etc.) and offer guidance on lifestyle and performance.
  • Attend competitions and training camps as required.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and attend internal training and meetings.
  • Maintain positive relationships with swimmers, parents, coaches, and volunteers.
  • Follow all club and Swim England policies, including child protection (Wavepower).

Requirements:

  • Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate (ASA Level 2 Award) or Assistant Coach Certificate and working towards the Swimming Coach Certificate.
  • Enhanced DBS and Safeguarding Qualifications.
  • Coaching experience with Age Group and Youth swimmers, ideally to county level or higher.
  • Strong technical knowledge with a skills-focused approach.
  • Excellent time management, organisation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate swimmers and engage positively with parents.
  • Team player with a respectful and inclusive approach.
  • Willing to support club activities beyond standard swim coaching.
  • Availability for Tuesday mornings, Saturday mornings, and various evening sessions.
