The successful candidate will manage the development pathway for our young swimmers and continue to strengthen the link between our successful lessons and performance coaching programme.The role will also include leading the coaching of our Performance 1 squad and opportunities for personal development and mentorship from our highly experienced coaching team.**About Stockport Metro**Stockport Metro has enjoyed a long history of podium success across all age groups at County, Regional, National and International levels, breaking countless British and Commonwealth records. Since moving to Grand Central Pools fourteen athletes have qualified for the Olympic Games, and the club has produced four Olympic medallists, making it the most successful in British history. The programme continues to see success at both National and International level with two swimmers qualifying for the Commonwealth Games in 2026, Arena League and Junior League national finals in the last 12 months and consistently sees swimmers at British National finals. We now have an exciting new vision and structure to help continue the success into 2030 and beyond.**About you:**Our coaching team consistently promote the values of the programme. The ideal candidate would ideally share the 5 key characteristics that we promote within our coaching team:* **Professional:** You maintain high standards in your punctuality, apparel, and communication, acting as an ambassador for the club both on the poolside and at external competitions.* **Passionate:** You bring high energy and an inspiring work ethic to every single training session, genuinely investing yourself in motivating athletes to achieve their personal bests.* **Technical:** You possess an excellent understanding of biomechanics, consistently applying precise technical corrections to refine stroke efficiency.* **Caring:** You look beyond the scoreboard to prioritise the holistic well-being, mental health, and long-term personal development of every swimmer in your care.* **Proactive:** You don't wait for issues to arise or directions to be given; instead, you actively seek out marginal gains, plan meticulously ahead, and take ownership of your squads' progression.**Job Description***Coaching:** To coach development squads (swimmers aged 8-11) with a primary focus on improving technique, skill and training ability* To coach the Performance Potential Squad (aged 11-14) depending on experience* To assist the Head Coach on other Performance Squad sessions when needed* To work with our Strength and Conditioning coach to organise and lead land training and pre-pool for the above squads* To work with the Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach to ensure a progressive pathway from lessons to our age group squads* Attend all competitions and camps as required* Organise holiday training/skill camps* Coaching hours from 4.30-8.00 pm evenings and Saturday mornings.*Management:** To manage coaches and squads within the Development pathway ensuring they are working towards the long-term vision of the programme* Link with our Academy Squads and Lessons programme to ensure pathway progression* Link with other lessons/schools/partner clubs each week to help build our pathway* Attend a regular senior coach meeting and other programme development meetings*Administration:** Organise and communicate competition entries for the programme* Help organise our internal swim meets* Manage all communication within your squads, parents and the development pathway* Organise the Junior league teams and help with Arena league* Help with CPD and coach development within your pathway* Assist with Swim Mark Accreditation## How to applyPlease send a CV and cover letter to Rick via the apply button.The deadline for applications is as above.Contact phone: 07919004071Apply #J-18808-Ljbffr
