City of Hereford Swimming Club is looking to appoint an Assistant Head Swimming Coach to help support our current and growing programme. Over recent years, our Head Coach, Graham Begley, has been instrumental in growing the club to more than 180 members. During that time, the club has continued to go from strength to strength. In the last year alone, we have:
- winner of the Junior Swimgainz League
- secured promotion in the National Arena League
- supported swimmers achieving finalist places at National and British levels
As our programme continues to grow, we are now looking for a coach who can help us build on that success and support swimmers across the club to achieve their potential.
We are looking for:
- someone who holds a Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate, or is working towards this
- an enthusiastic, reliable, and committed individual to swimmer development
- someone who can deliver engaging, well-structured sessions
- a team player who works positively as part of a wider coaching team
- someone who enjoys supporting swimmers across a range of ages and abilities
Role details:
- Self-employed position
- Up to £20 per hour for the right person
- Sessions are currently based in Ross-on-Wye, Hereford, and Leominster
- We are keen to be flexible and would welcome interest from candidates based in any of these areas
We recognise that the right candidate may have preferences around location, squads, and availability, and we will do our best to accommodate those wherever possible. The role can be shaped to suit the successful candidate, or candidates, depending on experience, availability, and the sessions they are best placed to support.
We can offer:
- a flexible coaching role that can be tailored where possible
- the opportunity to work within a successful and expanding club
- support with ongoing coaching development
- support towards further qualifications, including progression to Senior Coach, if desired
- a welcoming and well-supported club environment
We are incredibly fortunate to have a fantastic group of swimmers, supportive parents, and a committed committee who are keen to see both current and future members thrive.
This is an exciting opportunity for a coach who wants to be part of a friendly, ambitious, and community-focused club, while also having flexibility around how and where they contribute.
City of Hereford Swimming Club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments will be subject to appropriate safeguarding checks.
