Renowned as one of Yorkshire’s top four squads, we collaborate closely with the city’s swimming clubs to provide high-performance training and expert coaching. Our mission is simple: to create an environment where ambitious swimmers can develop the skills, confidence, and mindset to compete at the highest levels of British Swimming. With a history of producing champions at county, regional, and national levels, we are now focused on building on this legacy and growing even further. Recently, our swimmers achieved 22 finals and brought home 3 medals at the North East Long Course Regional Swimming Championships, with National Squad members also qualifying for the British and National Championships this summer. Your Role : Key Responsibilitie s As Assistant Head Coach, you’ll be instrumental in delivering our vision for swimming excellence. Your responsibilities will include: Coaching Leadership : Lead and deliver training sessions planned by the Head Coach, while providing constructive feedback to swimmers and supporting their skill development. Performance Development : Collaborate with the Head Coach to identify and maximise the potential of our athletes, aligning with Swim England’s physical literacy guidelines (County: “Learning to Train”; Regional: “Training to Train”). Competition Support : Attend galas and open meets in line with the club’s competition schedule, inspiring swimmers to perform at their best. Mentorship : Assist in developing our assistant coaches, helping to build a strong coaching team that works cohesively. Administrative Excellence : Manage attendance tracking, communicate with parents/guardians, and help with day-to-day administrative tasks. Team Spirit : Step in to cover sessions across the performance programme or club squads when needed, ensuring seamless delivery of training. Representation : Act as an ambassador for the club, fostering positive relationships with regional, county, and local clubs. Why You? Qualifications and Experience : Essential : Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate or ASA Level 2 Coaching Award. Desirable : Experience coaching competitive swimmers, with an understanding of nurturing young athletes through long-term performance pathways. The Details : Hours : Part-time (11-13 hours per week of poolside coaching, with flexibility required for galas and meets). Contract : Flexible.
