We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Swim Instructor to join their team in Ashburton or Kingsteignton. This is a full-time, on-site role delivering structured swimming lessons to individuals and small groups.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, structured swim lessons
- Teaching correct technique across a range of strokes and ability levels
- Monitoring swimmer progress and providing clear, constructive feedback
- Ensuring a safe pool environment and enforcing safety procedures
- Responding effectively to any incidents or emergencies
- Communicating with swimmers and parents/guardians regarding progress
- Working collaboratively with the wider coaching team to maintain high standards
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in swim instruction, delivering lessons to a variety of age groups and abilities
- Strong swimming and aquatics skills, including proficiency in all major strokes
- Lifeguard qualification (or equivalent) with knowledge of rescue and emergency procedures
- Recognised swim teaching/coaching qualification (e.g. ASA/Swim England or equivalent)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate learners
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and professional environment
- CPR and First Aid certification (desirable)
