Swifty AI is a London-based conversational AI company building technology for the automotive industry. We record, analyse and act across every customer interaction handling inquiries, booking appointments, screening leads and resolving customer issues autonomously. Our agents already manage a significant share of these interactions without human involvement, and we're one of the fastest-growing AI startups in automotive.

This is a chance to join early and help build something genuinely new at the intersection of AI and real-world business from our offices in Shoreditch.

The Role

We're hiring a motivated Full Stack Engineer to design, build and maintain both the front-end and back-end of our AI-driven products. This is not a role where you'll be buried under layers of management or stuck fixing minor bugs for a year. You'll ship production code, own real projects, and work directly alongside senior engineers from day one.

What You'll Be Working On

  • Building full-stack products with React, TypeScript, shadcn and Next.js on the front end, and Python powering the backend and AI systems
  • Powering live AI that processes messaging, voice and call-log data in real time, at serious scale
  • Shipping production features end-to-end
  • Working across multiple live client environments
  • Solving real operational problems with AI
  • Taking ownership of projects far earlier than most engineers get the chance to

What We're Looking For

  • Strong full-stack skills across a modern front end (React, TypeScript, Next.js) and a Python backend
  • A strong academic background (top Russell Group or equivalent)
  • A genuine interest in AI and emerging technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • An independent mindset and a strong sense of ownership

Nice to Have

  • Experience with real-time systems or high-throughput data processing
  • Experience with AI or machine learning applications
  • A bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

What You'll Get

  • Huge ownership from day one
  • Direct exposure to senior engineers and founders
  • AI-focused product work used by real businesses
  • A fast-moving, ambitious environment with an extremely steep learning curve
  • Real responsibility early in your career
  • Up to £70,000, with hybrid working from our Shoreditch office

If you want to grow fast and do meaningful work inside a top-tier AI startup, we'd love to hear from you.

How to prepare for a job interview at Swifty AI

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Swifty AI uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
