We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Account Administrator to join our small Construction Company. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in accounting software, specifically Sage 50 Accounts and the construction industry. You will support the business with day-to-day administration, accounts processing, and personal administration tasks, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and excellent communication.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as Sage 50 Accounts including data entry, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Raise and process invoices, credit notes, and purchase orders
  • Prepare quotations and ensure accurate pricing and documentation
  • Maintain supplier and customer account records
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is correctly recorded
  • Assist with invoicing, billing, and expense tracking
  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support across the business
  • Maintain organised filing systems (digital and physical)
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries professionally
  • Prepare documents, letters, and internal communications
  • Support diary management and scheduling
  • Manage holiday bookings, staff leave records, and related documentation
  • Assist with travel arrangements, appointments, and ad-hoc personal admin tasks where required

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong working & up to date knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts (essential)
  • Knowledge of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) & Domestic Reverse Charge VAT processes (essential)
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Able to follow instruction while also using own initiative to solve problems
  • Confident producing invoices, quotations, and financial documents
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, friendly manner
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

This position is to initially cover maternity leave for 9-months with the opportunity for this to rise to 12-months with potential to become a permanent role. Days & hours to be agreed (full or part time), hybrid-remote in Beckenham office.
